Oldfields Garage crowned Top Garage 2025 in 10+ employees category

Oldfields Garage, a multi-award-winning family-run Herefordshire business, has been named Top Garage 2025 in the 10+ Employees category at this year’s Top Awards, held at Delphi Academy in Warwick on Saturday 15 November.

The accolade recognises garages demonstrating excellence in leadership, operational efficiency, customer service, and innovation.

Tim Benson, Managing Director at Oldfields Garage, attended the Top Garage judges’ interviews alongside Vehicle Technician Owen Llyod and Site Manager Sam Peters.

“Winning Top Garage, for the second time in three years, is the icing on the cake, but it truly reflects the dedication, teamwork, and effort of everyone at Oldfields Garage,” said Tim. “What makes this award truly special is the camaraderie and support within the industry. Even competing against some of the very best garages, there’s a genuine warmth and mutual respect in the room.”

The past year has been a landmark one for Oldfields Garage, with a major workshop expansion creating specialist facilities for electric vehicles, commercial vehicles, and motorhomes. The investment goes beyond physical space, encompassing advanced diagnostics, staff development programmes, and apprenticeships.

“The reality of winning Top Garage (10+ employees) is really starting to sink in,” said Sam. “This was my first time attending an awards platform of this scale, and it’s been an incredible experience.”

Oldfields Garage has also strengthened its influence across the sector and local community. Tim Benson has delivered school talks, inspiring students about careers in the automotive aftermarket and business management, and the garage welcomed Ellie Chowns MP, discussing MOT fees, skills shortages, and industry regulation while highlighting Oldfields’ ongoing commitment to apprenticeships and training.

Community engagement remains central to the garage’s ethos. In August 2025, Oldfields hosted a popular family fun day, offering behind-the-scenes tours, car displays, hands-on activities, and career guidance, while raising funds for St Michael’s Hospice and the ELY Memorial Fund.

After an extraordinary run of success, having won nine major national garage awards in the past three years, Tim Benson has signalled a thoughtful pause for Oldfields Garage in 2026. While the business will step back from entering garage awards, it will remain a visible presence at industry events, supporting other outstanding garages across the UK.

“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past few years,” said Tim. “Next year, we’re taking a step back from entering garage awards as a business. We’ll still be at events supporting other brilliant garages, but we also want to focus on some exciting initiatives we’ve been planning. I want to give our team members the chance to pursue individual awards, and I’ll be encouraging them to take the lead on the process themselves.”

For garages looking to raise standards, improve efficiency, or enhance customer experience, Tim Benson continues to offer hands-on guidance through Oldfields Automotive Consulting. For more information, email consulting@oldfieldsgarage.co.uk.
