Commission-free booking tool RampUp secures CAT Innovation shortlist

A pioneering digital solution to help independent garages break free from commission-based booking platforms has been shortlisted for a major industry award, just months after its launch.

RampUp, Garage Services Online’s new standalone booking widget, has been nominated for the Innovation Award at the upcoming Car Aftermarket Trader (CAT) Awards. The company has also secured a second nomination for Industry Partner of the Year.

The double shortlisting acknowledges a significant leap forward in the ability for independent workshops to deploy ‘big chain’ booking capability on their own websites.

RampUp can be integrated into any existing garage website, not just those built by Garage Services Online, giving every workshop the freedom to control their own bookings.

“We developed RampUp because garages were telling us they wanted independence, not just enquiries,” said Jim Lang, Director at Garage Services Online. “To see it shortlisted for the Innovation Award is special because it proves that the industry values tools that protect the garage’s bottom line.”

Unlike generic forms, RampUp features an intelligent filtering architecture rarely seen outside of manufacturer networks. By utilising advanced VRN lookups at no extra cost, it automatically adjusts service menus based on a vehicle’s exact specification.

“If a booking system doesn’t account for the difference in labour between a Fiat 500 and a Range Rover, the workshop loses out,” said Jim. “We solved that specific pain point, ensuring garages can compete with national chains on their own terms.”

RampUp is designed to work on any garage website, not just those built by Garage Services Online. It can function as a fully automated live calendar or, for garages that prefer traditional methods, as a digital gateway for front of house to action.

The nomination for Industry Partner of the Year, a category decided by a public vote, underlines Garage Services Online’s wider impact on the sector. It recognises the company’s evolution into a complete digital ecosystem. Over the past year, the garage specialist has significantly broadened its support for independents, adding professional video production and social media strategy to its core services.
