Valeo Service UK is helping independent garages capitalise on the rapid growth of Asian vehicle brands across the UK aftermarket, providing workshops with an extensive Original Equipment (OE) quality transmission range, UK stock availability and technical support.
According to the latest year-to-date data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Asian and Chinese carmakers are accelerating their UK market share at a record-breaking pace. Chinese brands alone have captured over 13% of all new UK car registrations in 2026, up from 9.7% in 2025, while Kia holds a firm position among the UK’s top three overall best-selling marques and MG remains securely in the top ten.
As millions of these modern passenger cars enter the critical three- to five-year-old aftermarket ‘sweet spot’, Valeo warns that independent repairers risk missing out on valuable revenue due to concerns over part availability or technical complexity.
“Asian manufacturers have reshaped the UK car parc, creating a significant commercial opportunity for independent garages,” said Andy Swann, Division General Manager at Valeo Service UK. “However, a garage can only capture that revenue if it has two things: immediate access to high-quality parts and the technical confidence to fit them.
“At Valeo, we don’t just supply OE-quality transmission components that match factory performance. We provide free technical support through Tech@ssist and direct access to our UK technical hotline, helping independent workshops take on more Asian vehicle repairs without delays or unnecessary downtime.”
A key challenge for workshops servicing newer Asian applications is securing replacement transmission components quickly. Main dealer backorders can leave vehicles occupying valuable ramp space, affecting productivity and profitability.
Covering up to 90% of the Asian vehicle parc, Valeo’s offering includes more than 1,900 part numbers, supporting popular applications such as the Nissan Qashqai, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, MG HS, Toyota RAV4 and Corolla, and Suzuki Swift.
The range includes conventional clutch kits, hydraulic-bearing kits, Dual Mass Flywheels (DMFs), FullPACK™ DMFs, dual dry and dual wet clutch systems, torque converters, clutch-by-wire systems and actuators, supporting the latest Asian powertrain technologies.
Through Valeo Tech Assist, technicians have free access to assembly guides, technical bulletins and video training modules covering DCT and DMF replacement procedures. Valeo Tech Academy also provides structured training to help workshops build confidence when working on advanced powertrain systems.
For on-ramp support, technicians can access Valeo’s Help Centre (01527 838 300) and live online assistance for fitment and application queries. Workshops fitting Valeo transmission components can also benefit from the Valeo Specialist Club, a digital rewards programme that allows users to scan product barcodes, collect points instantly and redeem them against a range of rewards.
