Ant Anstead is back in the workshop this summer, as Born Mechanic returns to Quest with a significantly extended third season.
Following a successful launch in 2025, where the show quickly became one of the channel’s top-performing premieres, ITN Productions has secured an order for 18 new episodes — more than double the length of previous seasons.
The series will continue its unique “double renovation” format, following the celebrity mechanic as he restores classic cars to fund a deeply personal project: renovating a farmhouse for his parents.
A Bigger Challenge for 2026
Fans of the first two seasons, which featured restorations of iconic models like the Triumph Dolomite Sprint, Lotus Elan, and even a vintage Ford Transit fire engine, can expect the stakes to be higher this time around.
The new 18-episode run will see Anstead racing against the clock to complete the front section of the house by Spring 2026.
With his parents waiting to move in, the pressure is on to turn “barn finds” into serious profit.
Ant Anstead commented on the recommission: “I am really proud of the partnership with ITN Productions and the show that we have built over the past two years. Born Mechanic has resonated because it’s real in a world where authenticity and charm is often hard to find.
“I’m excited to tackle the work ahead and keep building on the success of the previous seasons. Best call my dad and let him know he’s going to be busy.”
