After a successful debut in 2024 that raised £100,000, the automotive industry charity Ben is gearing up to launch the second Race Across Britain in February 2026.
Inspired by the BBC series Race Across the World, the three-day challenge pushes teams of two to their limits as they navigate a high-octane route across the UK without planes, smartphones, or pre-planning.
Participants will rely on public transport, cycling, walking, and quick thinking to complete the race.
With a limited budget and checkpoints kept secret until the last moment, success depends on creativity, adaptability, and teamwork rather than speed alone.
Along the way, teams can tackle impromptu tasks and challenges to boost their fundraising totals, all while racing against the clock.
The event is designed for people across the automotive industry, combining fun, competition, and community spirit while raising vital funds for colleagues who may be struggling or in crisis.
The inaugural Race Across Britain highlighted the charity’s impact, demonstrating how far the sector will go to support its members.
Matt Wigginton, Ben’s Director of Growth & Development, said: “Race Across Britain is full of fun, frenetic and wildly rewarding challenges, and it’s a celebration of our community’s creativity and competitive spirit.
“Every mile clocked, every checkpoint reached and every pound raised matters. Whenever any member of our automotive family is struggling, we rally and Race Across Britain shows just how far we’ll go to support each other.”
Teams interested in taking part can sign up now and find out more at www.ben.org.uk/RAB26.
With limited spaces available, the event promises a unique opportunity to test resilience, build teamwork, and contribute to a cause that safeguards the welfare of the automotive industry community.
