Biggest Blend yet kicks off this Saturday

Independent garages from across the UK and Ireland are counting down the hours to The Blend 2025, taking place this Saturday, 18th October, at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.

With over 500 attendees, 34 expert speakers, 16 trade exhibitors, and 20 dynamic sessions spread across two floors, organisers are promising the biggest and most ambitious Blend yet.

The sold-out event offers a full day of learning, networking, and innovation for the independent garage sector. Delegates will have the chance to explore the latest tools, equipment, and services while connecting with peers and discovering practical strategies to grow their businesses.

The long-awaited speaker programme covers everything from business growth and operational efficiency to customer service, mental health, cybersecurity, and emerging automotive technologies.

Highlights include Maisie Raine of The Race Group and Alex Vere from Garage Services Online sharing digital strategies to drive profitable work, Tim Benson of Oldfields Garage offering award-winning tips for garages, and Mark Webb from Garage Vitals presenting the latest developments in OEM diagnostic tools. Tom Cockings of Robert Cockings Motor Repairs will explore the challenges of OEM versus aftermarket diagnostics, while a wellbeing panel featuring Ellen Plumer from Ben Charity, Michael Shaikly of Shaikly Motor Services, Andy Wells of Auto Works HQ, Tim Benson, and Dawn Metcalfe from Garage Hive will provide practical strategies for creating healthier, more productive workplaces.

Many of this year’s speakers are first-time presenters, supported through The Blend’s ‘Speakers Circle’, where industry veterans Andy Crook and James Dillon provided mentoring to ensure engaging and actionable presentations. Delegates can expect hands-on advice they can implement immediately, delivered by people who understand the realities of running a garage today.

The conference kicks off at 9:10am, following registration from 8:30am, and runs through a packed programme of presentations, panels, and interactive sessions until 5:30pm.

The excitement continues into the evening with The Blend’s renowned dinner and awards ceremony, hosted by comedian Troy Hawke. Winners of the Garage of the Year, Staff Recognition, and Blend Community Awards will be revealed, with an auction in support of automotive charity Ben adding an extra layer of anticipation and community spirit.

“This year’s conference is the biggest we’ve ever hosted,” said Event Director Ray Dilsons. “More sessions, more speakers, more exhibitors, and over 500 attendees coming together to share ideas and learn from each other. It’s a unique opportunity to connect, be inspired, and leave with practical strategies to grow your business.”

The Blend 2025 is supported by leading industry brands including Castrol, The Race Group, NAPA Auto Parts, GSF Car Parts, and LKQ Euro Car Parts, whose backing helps make The Blend the biggest gathering of independent garage owners.

Tickets for The Blend 2025 are now completely sold out, with all proceeds, after covering event costs, supporting Ben and its vital work across the industry. Those unable to attend are encouraged to follow the event on social media for the highlights.
