The Independent Garage Association (IGA) has declared the 2025 British Independent Garage of the Year Awards (BIG Awards) ‘the most spectacular’ in its history.
Held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Friday 12 September, the event welcomed over 500 attendees, the largest audience ever, making it the biggest celebration yet for the UK’s independent garage community.
Comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw hosted the evening, bringing energy, humour, and inspiration to the stage and setting the perfect tone to recognise the very best in the industry.
Key stakeholders, leading suppliers, and industry decision-makers were all in attendance, making the night not only a celebration but also an unparalleled networking opportunity.
Stuart James, CEO of the Independent Garage Association, described the event as a landmark for the sector: “This year’s BIG Awards has been our most successful event to date, with a sold-out room of over 500 people. It was a showcase of incredible talent and a powerful reminder of the strength and unity within our sector.
“The winners and finalists are raising the bar for excellence, and the announcements we shared tonight underline our dedication to building an even brighter future for independent garages across the UK. It was a truly unforgettable evening.”
The awards celebrated businesses and individuals leading the way in innovation, customer service, technical skill, and community impact.
Sponsors played a key role in the evening, including the DVSA, which supported the Consumer Choice Award, reinforcing the industry’s vital role in maintaining road safety and customer trust.
The IGA extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the night possible: the independent garages and professionals whose dedication inspires the awards, the sponsors whose support helps showcase excellence, and the attendees whose presence made the event truly memorable.
With a packed room, momentous announcements, and recognition of outstanding winners, the BIG Awards 2025 proved extraordinary.
The evening firmly cemented its status as the flagship event in the independent garage calendar, celebrating the innovation, skill, and community spirit that continue to drive the sector forward.
