Independent garage owners are being encouraged to explore fleet servicing opportunities in the latest episode of The Blend Podcast, featuring fleet specialist Tim Guidotti, better known as The Fleet Guy.
Tim joins podcast host Mike Ruff ahead of his session at The Blend in Birmingham on Saturday 18th October, titled “Fleet Work: You Either Love It or Hate It”, to explain how independent garages can build profitable, sustainable relationships with fleet and leasing companies.
Drawing on more than 25 years’ experience running Ferdotti Motor Services, Tim reveals how fleet contracts helped transform his business from a single workshop into a multimillion-pound operation employing 30 people.
“Fleet work is one of the most misunderstood areas of our industry,” said Tim. “It’s not just about signing up to a portal and waiting for jobs to arrive. When you focus on relationships, processes and standards, fleet work can become the most dependable and profitable part of your business.”
In the episode, Tim outlines the three pillars of successful fleet operations and shares practical steps garages can take to meet the expectations of major fleet clients.
He also highlights a major industry shift: “We’re moving towards a world of usership, not ownership. Over 60% of new vehicles are now bought into fleet, and more leasing companies are turning to independents for service and repair.”
Tim will expand on these ideas during his interactive session at The Blend Conference on Saturday 18th October, where he’ll help attendees assess their readiness for fleet work and uncover new revenue potential.
Tickets for The Blend garage conference are now sold out, with around 300 garage owners, suppliers, and industry influencers set a full day of expert-led talks and peer networking.
