Mazda introduces six-year, 100,000-mile warranty

From 1st September 2025, all new Mazda cars registered in the UK will come with a six-year manufacturer warranty, with the mileage limit increased from 60,000 to 100,000 miles.

Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda UK, said: “It’s great that we can now offer our customers in the UK a six-year warranty. Considering that just 21% of cars registered in the UK this year have a warranty longer than three years, this demonstrates our commitment to the quality, reliability, and engineering of our cars.”

He added: “I’m delighted that our dealers can now sell our new cars with one of the best warranties in the industry. In the years ahead, our approved used scheme will also benefit, allowing customers to buy previously owned Mazdas with added confidence of a full manufacturer warranty.”

The six-year, 100,000-mile warranty applies as long as the car is serviced within Mazda’s prescribed service schedule, typically 12,500 miles or 12 months for most vehicles, making it especially valuable for fleet users and those with higher annual mileage.

David Wilson-Green, Customer Service Director at Mazda UK, said: “Our new warranty will be a strong differentiator in an increasingly competitive market.

“It highlights our focus on customer service across retail, fleet, and used cars, while giving our dealers the opportunity to retain customers in our network for years to come, both in sales and servicing.”

Impact on the UK Automotive Aftermarket
The extension of Mazda’s warranty could have a ripple effect across the UK automotive aftermarket.

With longer coverage, owners are likely to adhere strictly to manufacturer service schedules, driving consistent demand for genuine parts and authorised servicing.

At the same time, the warranty sets a higher benchmark for competitors, potentially encouraging other manufacturers to offer longer warranties or enhanced service packages.

The expanded used car scheme benefits the pre-owned market, providing added confidence to buyers and potentially raising resale values for Mazda vehicles.
