Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions (VLS) has just announced a game-changing suite of repair kits that finally allows independent workshops to repair, rather than entirely replace, worn EMR3 axles on Stellantis vehicles.
The EMR3 axle has been widely fitted to Stellantis vehicles since 2019. With over half a million of these vehicles registered worldwide, the earliest models are now well out of warranty and increasingly finding their way onto independent ramps.
Schaeffler has introduced repair solutions covering all three core modules of the EMR3 axle:
RepSystem-M (Motor): Dedicated components for repairing the electric motor.
RepSystem-G (Gearbox): Kits to overhaul the reduction gearbox.
Vitesco PEU KIT (power electronics unit): The first-ever aftermarket solution for power electronics repairs.
The RepSystem M and G kits contain OE-quality bearings and seals specifically designed for the EMR3, packaged alongside detailed, step-by-step instructions.
Any technician who has worked deep inside an EV motor knows the physical danger and difficulty of fighting the immensely strong magnetic forces between the rotor and stator.
To make RepSystem-M repairs safe and efficient, Schaeffler has developed the E-Axle Repair Tool (E-ART).
Available through Schaeffler’s e-mobility partner network, this specialised tool allows technicians to carry out contact-free separation and reassembly of the rotor and stator.
It requires minimal physical effort and completely prevents accidental component damage during the rebuild.
“The workshop can get everything they need from a single source: all the components for the repair, specific instructions… plus the optimal tool for safe installation,” explained Stephan Niese, Schaeffler’s Director of Global Product Management for E-Mobility.

Perhaps the most unique addition to the aftermarket is the Schaeffler Vitesco E-Axle PEU KIT, available from late February.
The Power Electronics Unit (PEU) is the brain that converts and controls electrical energy. Previously, if a PEU supply line or coolant hose was damaged, often by something as simple as rodent damage, it meant replacing the entire E-Axle.
Schaeffler is releasing two distinct PEU kits to solve this. A ‘Cooling Circuit Kit’ contains essential hose connectors and clamps to repair damaged coolant lines, while the ‘Component Replacement Kit’ includes a shielding plate, screws, signal wiring harness, and a sealing element.
Both kits come with OE-level installation data, including the exact bolt tightening sequences and torque specifications required to do the job right the first time.
The Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem and PEU repair solutions cover more than half a million Stellantis vehicles registered worldwide.
