Ebony & Ivory details successful in-house operation on On The Ramp

In the latest episode of On The Ramp’s ‘Your Garage’ series, hosts Alex Lindley and Nathan Taylor visit Scunthorpe-based Ebony & Ivory to see how they brought all services under one roof.

Director Ben and aftersales manager Jamie Housham explain how moving from outsourcing to a self-contained operation significantly improved their workflow, vehicle prep quality, and profit margins.

The business built its own flat-pack body shop and added in-house ADAS calibration, eliminating the costly downtime and logistics involved in transporting sales vehicles to distant specialists.

A custom parts-by-reg box system simplifies parts tracking with key suppliers like LKQ Euro Car Parts, while a dedicated wash bay ensures every vehicle receives a full appraisal and double valet.

With sales currently averaging 80 to 85 units per month, the VAG specialist plans to acquire adjacent land to further expand and establish a dedicated commercial vehicle centre.
