Chery Group has appointed Castrol as its official aftersales engine oil and ancillary products partner across Europe under a strategic cooperation agreement running until 31 December 2027.
The agreement establishes Castrol lubricants and fluids as the recommended service-fill across Chery’s European network.
The deal covers the Chinese vehicle exporter’s full brand line-up, including Chery, OMODA, JAECOO, LEPAS, and EXLANTIX, alongside future plans to roll out co-branded products.
Approved workshop specifications
As new vehicle brands enter workshop bays, staying aligned with manufacturer service requirements is critical for routine maintenance and warranty compliance.
Castrol’s approved range covers Chery Group’s internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid (HEV/PHEV), and battery electric vehicle (BEV) models:
–Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-20 C5: Approved and recommended from July 2026 for key HEV and PHEV models, including the OMODA 7, OMODA 9, JAECOO 8, and Chery TIGGO 9.
Castrol MAGNATEC Hybrid 5W-30: Specified for Chery Group models fitted with the 1.6-litre TGDI engine.
Castrol ON Range: Dedicated driveline and thermal fluids developed for Chery Group BEVs.
Ancillary Fluids: Chery-brand networks will also stock Castrol TRANSMAX transmission fluids, Castrol Radicool coolants, and Castrol React brake fluids.
Frequent stop-start cycles and lower operating temperatures in modern hybrid powertrains place heightened stress on mechanical engine components.
With up to 75% of engine wear occurring during warm-up and urban driving cycles, Castrol MAGNATEC uses surface-active molecules that bond to critical surfaces, including the valvetrain, timing chain, pistons, and bearings, delivering up to 50% greater wear protection.
Layla Yebaile, Head of Customer & Channel at Castrol, said: “Our agreement with Chery Group reflects Castrol’s continued commitment to supporting global automotive brands as they expand their footprint across international markets.
“Building on our long-standing partnership in China, we are proud to now support dealerships within the Chery Group across Europe, creating strong foundations for deeper commercial and technical collaboration as both organizations continue to grow.”
