Tim Benson launches ‘LiveStandard’ waiting list to raise independent garage standards

Tim Benson, founder of LiveStandard, a new software solution for embedding consistent garage workshop standards across

Tim Benson, Managing Director of multi-award-winning Oldfields Garage, has announced an exclusive waiting list for LiveStandard, a dedicated software solution designed to help garage owners develop, release and embed consistent workshop standards across their teams.

The announcement comes ahead of Tim’s speaking appearance at The Blend 2026 on Saturday 10 October, where he will share practical insights into applying AI to everyday garage operations using examples from other garages along with LiveStandard for Garages.

“Most independent garage owners know exactly how they want their workshop to run, but they get stuck because all that knowledge lives solely in their head,” said Tim. “When standards aren’t documented and accessible, the owner becomes the single point of failure. Mistakes happen, onboarding new recruits takes months, and owners end up working 60-hour weeks putting out fires.

Rather than requiring time-strapped garage owners to spend weeks creating complex manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), LiveStandard uses an intelligent personal assistant, WorkshopPA, to learn how an individual workshop operates, build comprehensive procedures, and present them under the garage’s own name and branding.

Technicians and front-of-house can also use WorkshopPA to access knowledge and follow procedures in real time. Built-in comprehension milestones, including ‘I’ve read it. I understand it. I remember it,’ help reinforce understanding and consistency across the team.

LiveStandard will be available through tiered monthly subscriptions for independent garages, starting from £109 per month. An assisted setup service will also be available for workshops looking to fast-track implementation.

The platform forms part of Tim’s wider focus on helping independent garages improve operational efficiency, customer experience and long-term business performance through practical solutions rooted in real-world workshop experience.
