Valeo expands remanufactured coverage to 22 million additional vehicles

Valeo Service UK is expanding its remanufactured rotating electrics and air conditioning offering with the introduction of 105 new references across its starters, alternators and compressor range, further increasing application coverage for independent workshops and distributors across Europe.

The latest update to the Valeo Re-Gen programme extends fitment to an additional 22 million vehicles, taking total coverage to more than 3,100 references. The expansion includes 59 air conditioning compressors and 46 starters and alternators, strengthening availability across high-volume European applications and supporting both legacy and newer vehicle parc requirements.

“Remanufacturing plays a critical role in addressing both the technical demands and cost pressures facing today’s independent aftermarket,” said Andy Swann, Managing Director at Valeo Service UK. “This latest expansion of our starters, alternators and compressor range through the Valeo Re-Gen programme significantly broadens application coverage while maintaining OE-equivalent performance standards.”

Key applications covered include the Audi A5, BMW 2-Series, Fiat Doblo, Jeep Renegade, Kia Ceed, Mini Countryman, Peugeot 308 and Boxer, Renault Grand Scenic and Volkswagen Transporter, providing broad coverage across key fleet and independent workshop vehicle populations.

Alongside evolving powertrain requirements, Valeo has also expanded its remanufactured iBSG starter-alternator offering for 48V mild-hybrid systems, supporting models such as the Ford Focus, Smart Fortwo, Hyundai i30 and Hyundai Tucson. The move reflects growing demand for service solutions compatible with electrified start-stop and energy recuperation technologies in the independent aftermarket.

“Each unit within the Valeo Re-Gen portfolio is engineered to OE-equivalent specification,” said Andy. “Components are fully dismantled, inspected, rebuilt and electrically tested to ensure consistent performance, durability and compatibility across a wide range of vehicle architectures.”

All units undergo a controlled industrial remanufacturing process, including full disassembly, component-level inspection, replacement of wear parts, reconditioning of core assemblies and end-of-line validation testing. This ensures functional equivalence with original equipment standards and supports consistent, predictable installation outcomes in workshop environments.

The expansion is supported by the Valeo Reman Partner Program, which provides distributor-level engagement tools, technical support and incentives designed to drive greater adoption of remanufactured components across the independent aftermarket.
