Summer battery problems
While cold snaps are traditionally seen as peak season for battery replacements, high ambient temperatures are equally punishing on vehicle electrics.
Extended exposure to heat accelerates grid corrosion, degrades internal plates, and speeds up electrolyte evaporation.
Combined with heavily loaded alternators running auxiliary fans, climate control systems, and infotainment units in stop-start traffic, marginal batteries are quickly pushed beyond their operating limits.
Testing every vehicle’s battery upon arrival, regardless of the initial job sheet, remains one of the fastest, highest-margin health-check routines a workshop can implement during the warmer months.
