Garage Services Online’s Alex Vere sheds 20 inches of hair to support The Little Princess Trust

A well-known figure in the independent garage community has undergone a dramatic transformation to support children and young people battling hair loss.

Alex Vere, of Garage Services Online, has donated an incredible 20 inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust. The charity provides free, real-hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other medical conditions.

In addition to the hair donation, Alex set a fundraising goal to cover the £700 average cost of manufacturing, fitting, and styling a single wig. To date, she has raised £923, surpassing her initial target.

The decision to support the charity was a deeply personal one for Alex, inspired by a close friend’s battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

“My friend didn’t wear a wig because synthetic versions can be so itchy and uncomfortable,” explained Alex. “The thought of children having to endure that on top of everything else was a huge motivator.

“Real-hair wigs aren’t just about the hair; they are about comfort, confidence, and restoring a small sense of normality when a child’s life is anything but normal. I was determined to raise enough to fund at least one wig, and I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated so far.”

The Little Princess Trust relies on volunteers and fundraisers like Alex to maintain its vital service.

“We are all incredibly proud of Alex,” said Jim Lang, Managing Director at Garage Services Online. “The passion and commitment she shows in her work for our garage clients is exactly what she has brought to this cause. It is a fantastic result for a charity that makes a life-changing difference.”
