Schaeffler delivers clutch training to next-gen technicians

Schaeffler's Alistair Mason delivering hands-on clutch system training to motor vehicle students at Herefordshire College.

Schaeffler Technical Services Manager Alistair Mason recently visited Herefordshire College to deliver practical clutch system training to around 40 motor vehicle students, highlighting OEM technical support and best practices for common fitment issues.

As part of Schaeffler’s ongoing effort to support up-and-coming talent in the automotive industry, the session covered essential workshop skills, common installation pitfalls, and guidance on where to source accurate technical data.

Commenting on the visit, Alistair Mason said: “We regularly host training sessions for colleges and apprentices in their places of study or work, and it’s always a hit.

“Young people are eager to learn, and clutch systems can be intimidating to work on initially. If we can help improve their knowledge and confidence early on, we will.”

“As a business, Schaeffler tries to assist young people on their automotive journey.

“This generation represents the future of the aftermarket, so investing in them at the start of their careers helps ensure they become, and remain, a real asset to the industry.

“The students at Herefordshire College were incredibly enthusiastic to learn new skills, and I’m confident the next generation of technicians will be fantastic.”

Alongside hands-on clutch instruction, the session provided students with an overview of Schaeffler’s wider product lineup and technical support networks.
