Milligan Auto Diagnostics tackles Mercedes software update, Ford EPB wiring, and Transit BCM

Milligan Auto Diagnostics takes us on the road to demonstrate mobile programming and complex auto-electrical fault finding, covering Mercedes, Ford Focus, and Transit Custom models.

The first job involves a Mercedes CLS with an AdBlue countdown and engine management light. Despite a new front NOx sensor, a persistent communication error remained, which was resolved by flashing a PCM software update via Mercedes OEM software.

Next, a Ford Focus with a stuck electronic parking brake maintenance mode was scanned using a Hella Gutmann Mega Macs S20. Retrieving fault code B1111, direct continuity testing of the offside caliper led to the discovery of a snapped wire inside the harness sleeve.

The final job required a Ford Transit Custom body control module replacement due to severe terminal corrosion. Using Ford’s FDRS platform, a Programmable Module Installation was completed, followed by a key initialization procedure to code the customer’s keys back to the van.
