Mechanic Mindset teams up with Steve to demonstrate PicoScope 7’s often-overlooked Setup Wizard, streamlining complex multi-channel captures on modern engines.
While guided tests typically focus on a single component, the Setup Wizard automates sample rates, time bases, and voltage scales across multiple simultaneous inputs.
Testing on an Audi A2, Steve configured four channels: a camshaft Hall effect sensor, crankshaft, a coil-on-plug probe, and variable valve timing solenoid control.
The wizard adjusted the time base to one-second divisions and pre-selected suitable voltage ranges, requiring only minor manual adjustments for channel noise.
Once captured, the software automatically labelled the 6.2-million-sample waveform using the wizard entries before uploading the file to the Pico cloud library.
