The Car Edition has commenced work on a Renault Clio RS race car build, starting with cooling system overhauls and transmission preparation for an upcoming race series.
The build began after a brief visit to Snetterton, where the crew caught up with Dan’s Auto Service troubleshooting cooling hose and brake issues on a BMW E90 track car.
Back in the workshop, Gytis turned his attention to the Clio’s heavily aged cooling components.
Initial upgrades on the Renault Clio include fitting a larger high-performance aluminium radiator, silicone coolant lines, and a new thermostat.
Gytis also stripped the intake manifold to swap the spark plugs and prepare for an oil catch can.
With the front end disassembled, the team has removed the subframe in preparation for dropping the gearbox.
The transmission will undergo a full inspection, a fresh clutch installation, and the fitting of a limited slip differential.
